The Nose/Scent Work sport and activity is a great way for your dog to have fun, build confidence and burn up some of that mental and physical energy they save up for your homecoming at the end of the day. It works your dog's brain! This sport enables the dog to use its amazing sense of smell and teaches you how to encourage your dog's natural talents in a safe, positive way. The activities include the challenges of new environments and search scenarios in which your dog will learn to search containers, vehicles, and interior rooms & exterior areas, buried hides and the art of handler discrimination.
K9 Nose Work®/AKC Scent Work® is for nearly every dog. While many enjoy competing for titles, training to compete is not a requirement to participate in classes. Every team learns the same skills, and it is all about having fun with your dog!
